Garagiste and Terroir-Driven Wines
Jonathan Maltus began his journey in Saint-Émilion in the early 1990s as a “garagiste”—an avant-garde winemaker who believes that fine wine should be judged on quality alone, without the need for a famous name or a historic château. In 1996, he purchased his first vineyards from Vieux Château Mazerat, which quickly solidified his growing reputation.
