Domaine Bosquet des Papes, Rhône

Domaine Bosquet des Papes is a renowned winery in the southern Rhône Valley, situated within the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The estate has been owned since 1860 by the Boiron family, who manage it with care and passion. The name “Bosquet des Papes” refers to the groves that once provided shelter for the popes who settled in Avignon during the 14th century. The winery is now led by the fifth generation of the family, with current owner Nicolas Boiron continuing the tradition of producing high-quality wines.

Vineyards of Domaine Bosquet des Papes

The estate spans 30 hectares of vineyards spread across three different types of terroir. In addition to the famous galets roulés—large rounded stones that regulate the microclimate by radiating heat—there are also vineyards located on sandy or loamy soils, which contribute to the unique flavor profile of the wines. All grapes are harvested by hand and vinified using traditional methods. Subsequently, the wines are aged for 12 to 18 months in large oak foudres.
